Spill Response Accessibility Statement
Spill-Response is committed to making spill-response.com accessible and usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology or need to change how they view or interact with a website.
We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These guidelines describe ways to make digital content more perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. We have not yet completed a full independent accessibility audit, so we cannot currently claim that every part of the Site meets that standard.
What we are working to support
We aim to make it possible to:
- use the Site with a keyboard as well as a mouse or touch screen;
- zoom in and adjust text size without losing access to the main content;
- navigate pages using clear headings, meaningful links and consistent layouts;
- understand images through useful text alternatives where they convey information;
- complete forms using clear labels and instructions; and
- use the Site with current screen readers and modern browsers, where reasonably practicable.
We review accessibility as we add or change content and features. This includes checking colour contrast, text clarity, heading order, image descriptions, form labels and keyboard access. Automated checking can help identify some problems but does not replace testing by people or a full audit.
Current accessibility status
A complete manual and assistive-technology review has not yet been carried out. We therefore do not have a verified, comprehensive list of accessibility barriers. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us so we can investigate it and consider an accessible alternative or a fix.
Some parts of the Site may rely on third-party tools, embedded content or services. We do not control their accessibility or updates, but we will consider alternatives where a third-party feature creates a significant barrier.
Need information in another format or help using the Site?
Contact us at [email protected] and tell us:
- the page or feature you were trying to use;
- what you were trying to do;
- what happened and what device, browser or assistive technology you were using, if you know; and
- the format or adjustment that would help you.
Please do not include sensitive personal or medical information unless it is needed to explain the access issue. We will use your message to respond and improve the Site. We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within five working days and to explain the next steps. If you need urgent spill or safety assistance, do not wait for an accessibility response; use the appropriate emergency or regulatory contact for your situation.
Reporting a problem
If you are not satisfied with our response, reply to the same email and ask for the matter to be reviewed. You may also seek advice from the relevant equality or consumer-rights body in your jurisdiction. This statement does not affect any rights you may have under applicable law.
